Dermal Dilemma
A [[rotting disease]] has struck Port Maraisa and is generating strife in the city. Is this an unfortunate natural event, or is there some foul play at work?
Notes
- The disease leaves bark-like scars when the lesions go away
- Mother Verduna claims the disease isn’t contagious, but Delridge claims folks who visit the The Lazaretto get the disease. 1
- Delridge states that Mother Verduna believes the disease is an infection from the plants. 2
- Travel to The Lazaretto to have a conversation with Mother Verduna about staying healthy while traveling to and from the Southern Beacon.
Tasks
- Investigate the The Lazaretto
- Ask around town about folks getting sick: Who is getting sick? Any common behaviors or traits?
- Meet Delridge at The Big Tree at about midnight on the evening of Eliant 24 to take a boat across the river to The Lazaretto. This cost us 15GP.
- Talk with Mother Verduna at the Lazaretto about how we might help.
Events
- Destroyed the White Skull Fortress and Mother Laguna, freeing two of the three shadow elemental’s faces. 3
- Told by the shadow elemental released at the White Skull Fortress that Mother Verduna is a hag who trapped the elementals. 3
People
- Delridge Berryroot - Initial source of information including curious claim that halflings aren’t getting ill. Subsequent conversation with Delridge clarified: Halflings don’t get sick often, but they invariably die when they do. 2
- Mother Verdura - Healer leading efforts to help and quarantine the infirm.
- Discovered a trapped shadow elemental in the fountain under Bad Doric and noted similarity between the elemental from Shadowfell and the malaise of the swamp south of Port Maraisa
